HISTORY: Japan developed the Shinden (Magnificent Lightning) in 1945. The J7W1 Shinden was the only World War II aircraft of canard configuration that any combatant ordered into production. Canard is a French term. The original meaning is obscure but aircraft designers used it then, as now, to describe an aircraft with the main wing mounted at the rear of the fuselage and a smaller wing at the front. Though innovative and unusual, the airplane never got past the prototype stage. Wingspan 36 ft 6 in., Length 31 ft 6 in., Height 12 ft 10 in.

HISTORY: The small, tubby F4F/FM-2 Wildcat is one of the important, yet often forgotten Allied fighters of World War II. Designed in 1935 by the Grumman Aircraft Corp., the XF4F-3 was the first all-metal, carrier launched, monoplane fighter purchased by the U.S. Navy. The F4F beat out competing designs from Brewster and Seversky. The robust and agile F4F was the primary front line fighter of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps at the onset of World War II. The Wildcat proved to be dependable and was loved by pilots and maintenance crews alike.

Picked up your website by accident looking for plan details for Sig RC48. Looked and listened until my eyes started to melt. This is probably the most complete and viewer friendly site I have ever had the privilege of viewing. At my age, all the music, with the different pages, was a most pleasant experience!
Congratulations on a very well done site. Professionally done, well thought out, lots of interesting articles. Good job! I also found, being an Aero Modeller, the pictures associated with the different articles, to be tastefully selected and presented. All in all, a pleasant viewing experience.
