Page 46 Navigator CAD drawn

Very nice Professionally drawn, flawless and precise CAD plans which include extra formers and wing ribs ready for your building pleasure. No need to print an extra copy now. 3 rear formers act as water dams, just in case she developes a slow leak at the water rudder post mechinasm.

This Navigator features an optional removable non-stearable landing gear just as the original Jetco Navigator had. Although I simple belly landed mine in the grass field back then.

Also, this plane has a longer fuselage nose for greater floatation and a decreased need for any nose weight.
A modern designed motor pylon which holds a 2 oz. Sullivan fuel tank and shows an OS .10 for power, but another comparable motor may be used as the engine is now mounted to a motor mount instead of maple motor mounts.
A slightly larger wing is shown to compensate for the weight of the radio gear as the original was a free flight design or a 1 channel "galloping ghost" for those "steer to the crash sight landings"!

Also gone are those nasty stick & balsa formers that took forever to cut, glue, assembly and sand. How did we ever do that without CA glue?

Many builders do claim that my plans are some of the BEST, CLEANEST and most PRECISE plans in the world.
Try an Uncle Willies plan and you to will agree with the rest, that my plans truly are some of the best.

57" wing span and .10 to .15 power.      A laser cut short kit is available.

Color picture is of my  back in 1976. It was powered by a Cox .09
It was to heavy to take off from water but easy to hand lanch and was a very stable excellent flyer.

This is a high resolution TIFF file containing 200 x 200 dots per inch.
The file will print a plan 36" x 80".

File $10.00

Jetco "Navigator" kit plans 52" wing span

These is an excellent copy of my kit plan.

Being kit plans, they are terrible plans to scratch build with. I do sell Navigator plans that are EXCELLENT to build with and show all the ribs and bulkheads.

This is a high resolution TIFF file containing 200 x 200 dots per inch.

File $5.00

Sikorsky S-39

76" wing span. 50" length. 11" chord. 1 very large 8' 3" sheet. Power .60.

History:  Igor I. Sikorsky's S-39 was built to meet the demands of the individual pilot-owner. Following the success of the S-38, Sikorsky felt that a market existed for a smaller amphibian intended for the sportsman and executive. The aircraft had a wing span of 52 feet, a wing area of 350 square feet and a gross weight of 4,000 pounds. The aircraft was capable of carrying one pilot plus four passengers. It sold completely equipped for $20,000. The design of the S-39 started in mid 1929 as a twin engine aircraft powered by British Cirrus "Hermes Mark I" 100 horsepower engines.

First flight was December 24, 1929. On December 30 the aircraft crashed due to lack of power from one engine. The twin engine concept was abandoned in favor of the small Pratt & Whitney 300 horsepower Wasp Jr. engine. First flight was early February 1930 and test pilot Boris Sergievsky commented; "During the first test flight I looped the aircraft." More than twenty-three S-39's were produced in spite of the depression.

The little amphibian established an enviable service record. The "Spirit of Africa", Osa and Martin Johnson's S-39 logged more than 60,000 miles of exploratory flights in Africa. The S-39 established two Aviation World Records, was the first aircraft to use the Pratt & Whitney Wasp Jr. Engine, the first aircraft mounted on a private yacht and the first aircraft designed and produced by Sikorsky after it moved from Long Island to Connecticut.

This is a high resolution TIFF file containing 200 x 200 dots per inch.
The file will print 1 sheet 36" x 99".

File $5.00

Neptune flying boat

Captain Willie Nemo here.  I have just return from exploring an uncharted volcanic island in the South Pacific. I was able to make the voyage undetected in a ship that sails the seas "under water" !    I have classified this boat as a Submarine, for which I have christened as the Naughtyless.   Although faster than any sea creature including the Giant Squid, it would be nice to fly like the albatross.   I was able to capture such a bird late one night while surfaced far out to sea.   While at dinner, I made a careful examination of this elegant creature. I made note of the very light wing bones. How the wings where long in length. And how they where thicker near the leading edge and how they tapered back to the trailing edge, while displaying a slight under camber. I noticed that the breast muscles where strong and tasty and where capable of providing enough energy to sustain flight. The tail of the albatross appeared to be able to change the incident of the creature allowing the beast to alter its altitude. And by tilting the tips of its delicious wings, the bird could turn left and right.  After dinner, I retired to my study. With pencil in hand, I soon drafted a mechanical flying boat for my own use. Such a craft, with its powerful engine and air screw, would allow me to further my exploration of the South Pacific. Especially the islands of Tahiti for where I have made quite a practice of studding the indigenous natives and there fertility dances.
Hmmm, I hear the natives drums a beating in the Tiki Hut. I think it is ladies night tonight. Time for me to return to my "research". Tonight, my experiment is "how many pina coladas must a native girl consume before I look like Tom Cruise?"
Oh, the burdens I bear in the name of scientific research.   Cheers.   Also, I have made copies of this flying boat so as to share with others who seek adventure and the joy of flight. She is free flight but could easily be converted to R/C.

HISTORY of the plans: I spotted this extremely rare plan on eBay and just had to save her. The seller had done a poor job of showing the plan and the plan was listed as "being in MINT condition".   After looking at the sellers other items, which where all used car and motorcycle parts, I realized that describing items as being in "MINT" condition was a tradition amongst salesman in his field of "expertise".
Now, one not need be a draftsman to clearly see that this plan was actually a "TRAIN WRECK".   I included a picture of the plan below as I received it and also a close up of one corner so that you too,,,, may gaze upon,,,, behold,,,, and enjoy the beauty of this "mint condition" plan!   I still gave him a positive feedback as he NEVER tried to deceive me.   We simple have a "difference of opinions" about the plans condition, and just possible,  the definition of "mint", as described Daniel Webster's 1913 Dictionary,  which supplied Related Terms such as virgin, fresh, unbeaten, unbroken, unbruised, undamaged, but no where could I see the term "train wreck".
8/22/03 UPDATE: I have over 16 hours into restoring this beautiful old masterpiece..... I have redrawn 90% of the plan. I cut her into 3 pieces and I have corrected the defects. She is almost as clean as I can get her for the first run using traditional drafting methods. (elbow grease) ...... Note: It would take 40 hours of repair using CAD to restore this plan to mint condition. Maybe someday when I have time to kill or employees to punish I will get that done. ( Ya, right! ) hehe.
1/1/04 UPDATE: I now have the magazine article which will be included with the plan. It was in the 1942 issue of Air Trails.

66" wing span. Power: unknown

This is what Morons that sell plans on eBay call MINT?????
